Mei turns 13. | Nashville Photographer

I know it has been way too long since I blogged. I have not stopped capturing special moments for families and events, but I just have not blogged about them:) Today, I really needed to show you this special sessions I did in the fall with MY daughter!

Today, she turns 13 and I want you to know how amazing she is. She is such a gift to our family. She brings her beautiful smile and her beautiful heart to us and we are so thankful. These teen years are tricky navigating all the emotions, but this day was really fun and full of smiles. I can not recommend a birthday photoshoot high enough. I love seeing the glimpses of girl and women in these pictures. Now we need to do another one when she gets her braces off!

Lauryn + Evan Wedding | Nashville Wedding Photographer

Less than a month ago, I shot this beautiful wedding for Lauryn and Evan. I met Lauryn because she was a bridesmaid in a previous wedding I shot. If you remember, I posted their engagement session on my blog 6 months ago and it rained the whole time! But it turned out so fun. Well the wedding was perfectly timed this day to avoid any rain! It was held in Downtown Nashville at the Nashville City Club. We made to a couple blocks to the War Memorial Plaza (where they got engaged) to squeeze in formal and fun pictures. It was such an honor to capture these precious memories and be a part of their special day!

These pins were worn inside Lauryn’s dress and were very special from her sorority. I love getting little details that were speical so the couple can remember them and pass down the stories to their children.

Lauryn gave all her bridesmaids necklaces with the exact geographical coordinates of where she met each person. I have never heard of this and thought this was such a neat idea!

My second shooter was Abi Lewis. She met Evan and the boys at a house they rented at Scarritt Bennettt and were able to take some wonderful shots there.

We were up on the 20th floor!

This fun couple does not live in Nashville, but were in town for Thanksgiving. We had one afternoon to squeeze in their engagement shoot.  Lauryn graduated from Belmont and Nashville has been a special place for them as they dated.  They also are going to get married her next summer.  Since we only had this one chance to take these pictures, we grabbed the umbrellas and headed to the 12 South area.  This area of Nashville happens to back up to Belmont University and has some really wonderful restaurants and coffee shops.  We started in Sevier Park with it’s historic buildings.  Next, we ventured down the street to the temporary Christmas tree farm.  Here they even had a fire going which the couple loved.  If the fire did not warm them up enough, I brought out one of my quilts to snuggle in among the trees.  Our last stop was at Frothy Monkey to warm up with a cup of coffee.  My opinion of rain on an engagement day shoot has changed after this one. It is one of my favorites now. Don’t cancel your shoot!  Just get an umbrella big enough to snuggle under and don’t be afraid to get a few rain drops on your shoulder.

Wesley and Marshall | Nashville Family Photographer

I met this sweet family recently from a referral from another client.  Wesley wanted some portraits of her 2 month old little girl and decided on a in-home session.  I loved spending the morning getting to know this family and capturing these memories for them.  This first portrait is probably my favorite 2 month old portrait I have ever taken.  I just love the sweet look in her face. Enjoy the sweetness!
